This is gonna be a short one.

When you and your team are totally committed to a project, Holidays tend to get abbreviated. It’s the home stretch for us, 3 days before the launch party, 4 days before the public launch, and there’s still work to be done. You tend to realize that there is ALWAYS work to be done, from opening titles, to credits, to music, to sound, to marketing.  There is always something that needs attending to. I’m not going into the details of putting everything together, cause really I want to take as much of the Holiday as I can. But I can tell you that several members of our team are all doing significant work related to the project today. We’re just trying to finish it up as soon as possible to have somewhat of a Thanksgiving.

One thing to always remember as you head through the home stretch, is that there’s a hard deadline. Even though every member of our team all value the highest quality of work; there comes a point when the perfectionist side of you becomes your detriment because you just end up tweaking endlessly. When that happens you have to think to yourself, (aside from a bunch of money coming out of the blue OR the deadline being pushed back a month) is all this tweaking the best way to spend your time, and is it really THAT much better for it? At that point you just have to turn in your work, take a breath, and have faith.
